Times are tough in today’s economy. One example is the closing of the Daily Planet. Consequently, Clark Kent was looking for a new job. Let’s look in on an interview that is now going on with Clark Kent.
Interviewer: Well Mr. Kent, I’ve examined your resume, and I am most impressed.
Clark Kent: Thank you very much.
Interviewer: I’ve seen that you’ve worked at the Daily Planet for twenty years.
Clark Kent: That is correct.
Interviewer: It is unfortunate that the Daily Planet went out of business. I knew Perry White personally. He was a good man.
Clark Kent: Yes he was. He was tough as nails but always fair with me.
Interviewer: Tell me Clark. What are some of your strengths?
Clark Kent: Actually, I am extremely strong. I work out everyday. I can bend steel with my bare hands.
Interviewer: Very good. However, we are a news agency. We really don’t need someone to bend steel.
Clark Kent: I understand. Well I have won numerous awards for my reporting on Superman.
Interviewer: Yes, most impressive. Did anyone ever tell you that your bear an uncanny resemblance to Superman?
Clark Kent: Many times. I wish that I had all his powers. I’ve always been jealous of him.
Interviewer: Hmm. Tell me Clark. What are some of your weaknesses.
Clark Kent: I get nervous around supernatural magic. Also, I have a fear of Kryptonite.
Interviewer: I see. I have one more question for you.
Clark Kent: Go right ahead.
Interviewer: I’ve read the endorsement from your boss Perry White. He indicated that your job performance was excellent. However, he did indicate that you disappeared mysteriously at times. Can you explain?
Clark Kent: I have older parents who live in Smallville. I’ve been keeping in touch with them. Also, I am on various civic committees. I never ignore my responsibilities.
Interviewer: Most commendable. I am impressed by your professionalism and your involvement in your community. When can you go to work?
Clark Kent: I can be at work on Monday.
Interviewer: Very good. Congratulations! You’re hired. Welcome to Lex Luthor Gazzette.
