17 Feb Top Online Lead Generation Strategies To Deploy
There are no two businesses that are alike in every aspect. Some may be alike in some aspects but in other aspects, they are different.
This also holds true for marketing campaigns and solutions. There are really no broad-based marketing solutions that can be applied worldwide but a few work across boards when it comes to online lead generation.
The pieces of strategies revealed here are timeless, tested and proven to work and will never become outdated anytime soon. It will also work across any online business initiative regardless of your industry but the catch is you must have an online presence.
When I say online presence, I mean a place where everything about you could be found, where a lead can end up if or she wants to know more about you, your products or the services you offer.
It may be a landing page, a website or what have you.
With that being said and established, let’s quickly go through some of the top lead generation strategies that are timeless and proven to give results.
1. SEO called search engine optimization. This is all about optimizing your site with certain keywords for search engines to boost your rankings in the SERPs, thereby giving you more organic leads.
Those keywords should be carefully selected as they should be the keywords your website or your business is about.
Optimizing your site with those keywords will make search engines show your website to those who are searching for anything related or close to those keywords.
Now, there are a lot of people with those same keywords, optimizing their sites also with them. Who shows where and how are determined by those search engines but you should do your part by optimizing your site.
The higher up on the search engine result page (SERP) you are, the more leads will come to your website because the search engines see you as an authority in your niche.
There is a lot to SEO than explained here. We have on-page, off-page SEO, h1, h2, etc. tags, making sure the metadata is correct, fixing errors, adding alt text to your media, naming the pages more effectively.
All these are meant to be done for search engines to rank your website for SEO .
2. Website Optimization. This is another form of optimization though, a little bit different to SEO.
The difference is SEO is optimizing for a search engine while website optimization is optimizing for leads the search engines will give your website. Though this is often ignored in lead generation. We can call it user-friendliness in another term.
How easy is the site to use? Is it an enjoyable experience? Does the viewer get the exact information they want from your site or is it confusing, misinformed, generic or redundant?
For both SEO and website optimization, a killer blog will really improve your lead generation, but don’t overlook a redesign of your website if it’s cluttered, hard to use or just friggin’ ugly.
3. Social Media. Social media is one of the fads in an online lead generation. A viable source of leads generation. As all social media are not created equal, the only thing you have to consider is to know where to look and what to do.
For this, knowing your demographic well is the only way to be on the right social media platforms at the right times.
Capturing teen demographic on Facebook may be so yesterday, but you might catch them on Instagram.
To catch CEOs and upper management of companies as your leads, you won’t want to use Pinterest but LinkedIn. Know where your audience is social is important and go just there!
4. Email Marketing Campaigns. If there is one strategy that people think is dead but it is not, it is Email marketing. Due to the compartmentalization of the Gmail inbox, a lot of people thought that this method no longer works but this can’t be farther from the truth.
Gmail compartmentalization makes click-through rates to go up drastically because users can now open the emails they want to open, which in extension makes emails get in front of a more qualified lead audience than ever before. The only thing left for you to do is build your list and learn how to craft the perfect lead capture email so that your potential leads can visit them.
5. PPC Ads. This method involves paying to get leads. Even though i’m not a fan of paying to get leads, but the truth is that PPC ads work.
While there is no long-term benefit for PPC ads since you don’t you have an infinite amount of money for advertisement, there is a short-term benefit in both lead generation and conversion rates.
If you are startups and new launches who will like to meet the meet quota before the quarter ends, this might be for you.
The only thing to watch out for is that your ads have to be effective to work or you run at negative.
These are just the universal lead generation strategies that are out there. They do well but not all industries. Figure out what works in your industry and implement them.
