Finding The Customer’s Address
I am sure, finding the right delivery address becomes a big problem for delivery boys sometimes. Tracking the address on GPS can be used for avoiding this problem, most delivery boys even use it. But, in small towns and having complicated lanes makes a delivery boy confused. Finding the right address and delivering the product on time is their major responsibility. If a delivery boy is late for delivering one package, he will be late for rest of the deliveries. Therefore, finding the right address of a customer is a challenge which delivery boys face every day.
We all are aware of how jammed up the roads are during the peak hours in cities like Mumbai and Bangalore. Delivery boys work the entire day, cutting the traffic and delivery goods on time. It becomes very frustrating when you are crawling the road in the hot sunny day, that is the reason why I have ranked this problem second in this list.
Customer’s demand is not depended on the weather, they will still order even if it’s raining. It is quite understood that people will order more when it is not possible for them to get out of their house. This makes the delivery boy’s job more challenging, especially in monsoon.
Dealing with an irate customer spoils the entire day of a delivery boy. When a customer receives a damaged/wrong package they get too frustrated. Not all the customers are same, but few of them get so irritated by this that they end up insulting the delivery boy. However, the mistake is not always of the delivery boy, sometimes it is the fault of the manufacturer or the company.
Delivery boys who are working from quite a long time are often seen complaining about their backache problem. They carry huge bags filled with various products every day which keeps them working the entire day. Sometimes, these bags are twice the weight of the delivery boy himself. However, they can use mini trucks, but when they have to drive in narrow lanes and cut the traffic, bikes are much preferred than 4 wheelers.
