31 Dec Why Singapore is the Most Successful Society
After having become a stand-alone state in 1965, Singapore has turned itself into the prime location in the Southeast Asian region for the majority of foreign investors. In just a matter of 50 years, this once down and out island city-state has become a thriving metropolis, highly sought after by multinationals from all walks of life.
Its smart infrastructure, ideal location, unparalleled economic benefits, and countless programs to assist the growth and development of every kind of enterprise have made it an ideal location for many international companies, businesses, and brands. The many wonderful opportunities that this country provides have allowed it to thrive and prosper, not only for the companies and brands that it fosters, but also for the many residents that it houses within its bounds.
Singapore has been dubbed the most successful society in the world, and for a few good reasons. Back in the day, the city saw its first prime minister named Lee Kuan Yew. While some individuals might contest the man’s methods, it was ultimately because of his efforts that Singapore gained the power to reign supreme among its competitors. Lee Kuan Yew made use of the country’s ideal location as its main strong point. He encouraged foreign investors to make use of their land area to foster economic growth and development. What’s more, foreign companies and brands were not taxed more, rather, were given 100% ownership of stakes and profits, making them completely in control of every operation that occurs within their company. Singapore also mad its large workforce available for use. This multilingual pool of talents allowed companies to gain access to effective and qualified individuals without having to pay more in wages than they could afford.
Thanks to all of these smart moves, Singapore was able to raise its GDP from a lowly $50 to a now $50,000 – the highest jump in GDP any recently independent country has ever enjoyed. But these numbers would mean much less if the people themselves didn’t feel the relief of a thriving economic status.
Many Singapore residents, locals and expatriates alike, all agree on one thing – Singapore is a great place to live. Thanks to the comfort afforded by the ever growing economic atmosphere, Singapore can provide countless benefits and conveniences to its population. In this thriving urban city-state, individuals can enjoy unrestricted access to medical and dental services, low tax rates, high job availability, affordable education, low crime rates, and few health risks. What’s more, its transportation services make it undoubtedly easy to move around and make your way around the city. This makes it possible for residents to enjoy the many attractions and tourist spots the country has to offer – from an incredibly large ferris wheel, to an extensive cable car ride overlooking the entire city. There’s very little else that you would look for in a society.
Singapore has successfully cemented its name among the other heavy weights in the global ranks, making it one of the best societies to live in today.
